I spent many years helping others work smarter, lead better, and build systems that actually made a difference. As a productivity consultant and strategist, I specialised in Lean thinking, quality management, and sustainable performance, not just ticking boxes, but creating long-term impact.
These days, I apply that same mindset to writing. Whether I’m crafting a non-fiction guide, plotting a murder mystery, or dreaming up eerie adventures for younger readers, my goal is the same: to create something useful, enjoyable, and built to last.
Writing is my second act, and it's the most rewarding work I’ve ever done.
Under my own name, I write non-fiction books that help people focus on what matters, cut through the noise, and find more purpose in their work and life. As S.K. Crawley, I spin thrillers and mysteries: stories with layers, secrets, and characters who stay with you. And as Creepy Crawley, I write strange, spooky tales for brave young readers, the kind of books that make kids sleep with the light on and still come back for more.
It’s a joyful mix, and it all comes down to storytelling. Whether it’s practical or paranormal, every book I write is grounded in the belief that stories can change how we think, feel, and live.
I live in North Yorkshire with my wife, Susan, and our loyal (and slightly overindulged) Cocker Spaniel, Lulu. We walk most days, along the coast, across the moors, and through village paths we never seem to tire of. That rhythm of walking and thinking has become part of my creative process. It’s where ideas take shape and tangled plots unravel.
In life, in work, and in writing, I’ve come to believe this: it’s never too late to build something extraordinary.
